Monkeypox is a disease with symptoms similar to those seen previously with smallpox. Since May 2022 there has been a global increase in monkeypox cases reported from multiple countries where monkeypox is not usually seen. The first Australian case of Monkeypox was reported in NSW on the 20th of May.
