About the BMDH Library

All WSLHD staff members and Western Sydney University medical students in years 3-5 may join the library.

Register online to become a member of our LHD libraries (membership includes borrowing privileges at the Auburn, Blacktown Mount Druitt, Children’s Hospital Westmead, Mental Health Library Cumberland, Nepean Blue Mountains and Westmead). Once registered online – visit the Library to complete the registration process and to get your membership barcode – you will need to bring your WSLHD ID with you.

Borrowing

You are allowed to borrow up to 10 items (includes books, multimedia etc.) at any time. The loan period for items in the General Collection is 3 weeks. Loans may be renewed for a further two loan periods provided no reservations have been placed on the item. We have a BMDH closed reserve collection that can only be borrowed for 3 days at a time as they are very popular books and need to be shared among students. The Library catalogue can be found at https://helows.intersearch.com.au/

My Details

You can login to the Library Catalogue to access your borrower information, renew loans and check the status of your reservations. You just need your ID which is your membership barcode number and your PIN number which you nominate when you register.

Instructions to register as a member

1. Go to the Library Catalogue (https://helows.intersearch.com.au). 

2. Under the section entitled, 'Login to your account' choose whatever category applies to you and register to become a library member.
