There are specific alerts that can be created in Google Scholar. Setting up alerts allow easy tracking of published materials.

Profile Alerts

Public profiles are searchable in Google Scholar, and users can choose to set up email alerts for specific profiles.

  • Perform a search for your topic.
  • From the results list, locate the Alert icon and click Alerts.
  • Enter your email address in the email box.
  • Click Create Alert.

Set up a Profile Alert

Public profiles are searchable in Google Scholar, and users can choose to set up e-mail alerts for specific profiles.To follow a profile, click on the Follow button in the top right of the profile and select Follow New Articles or Follow New Citations or new Articles related to this author's research.

To receive alerts when a specific article has been cited, a Cited By Alert can be set up. To create this alert, click on the hyperlinked number to the right of the article title in the Cited By column. On the next screen select Create Alert in the bottom left corner.
