Top Tips at Christmas and New Year: Home

The Libraries will be closed over Christmas and New Year 

but we thought you'd like to hear how you can still

find valuable information for your work and continuing professional development.

 

Here's our top tips to prepare for when our libraries are unstaffed and

for making the most of your libraries in 2024.

10. Know how to access CIAP

Your StaffLink login can be used to access CIAP offsite. For remote access, go to CIAP https://www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au/index.html  

(bookmark this link or just search for "CIAP" using your browser), then enter your StaffLink login and password when prompted.  The website is mobile friendly.

7. Return or Renew books

Return any books you no longer require before they become overdue.

If you still need a book you have on loan renew it to keep it until we open in 2024. Just contact the Library before we close to do this.

 

4. Bookmark our Library Portal site

You may access all of our libraries’ resources from the one stop shop on our new portal but you need your MyAthens ID and Password for this. https://wslblacktownmd.ovidds.com/

 

 


 

9. Join the Library

If you're not a member join now to borrow from WSLHD, NBMLHD and Children's Hospital Libraries.

3. Plan now to improve your search skills in 2024

Plan to do a library training course in 2024 and earn CPD points. Check out our list of courses and book on the My Health Learning website

It comes once a year, and whether you are spending it at home or busy at work, enjoy the holiday season in a safe and happy manner.

8. Register for MyAthens

Register for a MyAthens username and password at  https://register.openathens.net/wslhd.health.nsw.gov.au/register

MyAthens provides you with access to online information resources using a single login. You can access resources such as Proquest and the E-Resources Portal, which is an A-Z listing of available journals, ebooks and open access content. There is no need to remember the username and password for each resource as by logging into MyAthens you can access all online resources in one go. Remote access is available. 2. Get to know your Library Staff
