What is grey literature?

The term grey literature refers to research that is either unpublished or has been published in non-commercial form. Some examples of grey literature include:

  • conference papers / conference proceedings
  • theses
  • clinical trials
  • newsletters
  • pamphlets
  • reports
  • fact sheets, bulletins
  • government documents
  • surveys
  • interviews
  • informal communications (e.g., blogs, podcasts, email)
