WSLHD Library updates during COVID-19

  • Anyone entering the library must use sanitizers on entry and exit
  • Everyone needs to have a minimum space of 1.5 m between themselves and others.
  • Use hand wipes to clean computers/desks before and after use.
  • Face-to-face training will no longer be offered by Library staff. Email WSLHD-AuburnHospitalLibrary@health.nsw.gov.au to set up virtual training.
  • If you need a literature search conducted for you please fill in the literature search form.
  • For urgent enquiries contact Westmead Hospital Library by emailing WSLHD-WestmeadLibrary@health.nsw.gov.au or calling 88906266.
  • Auburn Hospital staff can still access the library at any time.
  • Notre Dame medical students can email the library for access.
  • Other WSLHD staff can see security to apply for after hour access.

  • All bookings in the library meeting rooms may be canceled without notice. Please verify with the library that your meeting may still proceed.

Sydney Covid lockdown: 26 June - October 2021

The library is temporarily closed to physical access under the current lockdown conditions.

Library staff are available via chat, email and zoom for assistance with your library resources and services needs from 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday – Friday (outside of those hours if you require urgent assistance with patient care matters). We still offer:

  • Access to our extensive online collections remain available to staff and students for study and research purposes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week wherever you have internet access. See our website for more information Search our resources

  • Library training is being offered remotely as face-to-face training is not available during the lockdown period.Contact the library to set up a remote training by video conferencing, phone or live chat

All items on loan have had their due date extended, so you don’t need to worry about returning items or incurring overdue fees. If you want to return items though there is an after-hours chute near the front door of the library.

 

Sydney Covid lockdown: 26 June - 9 July, 2021

Westmead Hospital Library will have limited staff onsite between 10am – 3pm, Monday to Friday. Online services will be available 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Staff and eligible students will continue to have 24-hour access to the library by swiping in with their hospital ID.

The following services continue to be available online or via video conference:

  • Conducting expert literature searches
  • Providing access to an extensive collection of subscribed information resources at work and remotely from home
  • Supplying requested journal articles via email or document delivery form
  • Library training and consultations delivered on request for individuals or teams using our popular virtual training options

Book loans will be extended for the duration of the lockdown.
